Coachella 2008
April 29th, 2008What a weekend! the crew hit up the ever famous Coachella music festival in Indio, headlined by Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Kraftwerk, Portishead, Roger Waters and Prince.
Its official, Prince is the true Alternative Rocker. He is able to play virtually any instrument in virtually any style — funk, soul, R&B, gospel, pop, rock, folk, psych, new-wave etc. His set was amazing, opened up by the Time’s Morris Day and Jerome doing their “Jungle Love” oh-wee-oh wicked witch palace guard routine, followed by the stunning Sheila E, who set the audience at awe with her jaw dropping drum solo on “The Glamorous Life”. Not to mention the cover of Radiohead’s Creep, with ripping guitar riffs… seriously this guy could go on forevvver with his guitar solos! Followed by his ever popular Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain and Let’s Go Crazy. There were so many awesome parts of his show and the whole weekend that the blog could go on forever, but it has to be cut short…. It was pretty much summed up by Prince when he said… “Coachella!!!! You are at the coolest place on earth right now!!!
Roger Waters – Pink Floyd
The whole Dark Side of the Moon album was preformed making Sunday night an experience in sound. The audio was panned through the large speakers to set the ambiance. Fog filled the air as the crowd was engulfed with visual and audial elements, leading to the closing song Another Brick in the Wall. The Roger Waters set wouldn’t complete with out the Pink Floyd Pigs floating over the crowd.
