iPhone Grills and Glamour?

RONA’S IPHONE CASE OF THE WEEK
I love changing my iPhone case to coordinate with my gear. However, I’ve never been adventurous enough to actually bling out my iPhone with Swarovski Crystals, until now… I was just given a dope gift, an “iPhone Accoutrement” made by Gilty Couture, which has allowed me to glamorize my beloved gadget. It’s essentially a grill for your iPhone.
Gilty Couture has a unique line of luxury iPod and iPhone cases. Some are made out of 14k gold, some are silver plated cases and they either come with or without Swarovski crystals as an accent. There are cases for all current gen iPods and iPhones. You can also choose from different color crystals – including pink. The packaging is really classy. The case comes in a brown, suede-textured box with Gilty logos and inscriptions on the box. Included with the “accoutrement” is a polishing cloth to keep your device nice and shiny and a carrying pouch to avoid getting your “accoutrement” scratched!

UncategorizedLil Wayne T-Pain and Mack Main’s New Video “Got Money” Featuring T-Pain and “A Milli”
Wednesday, June 25th, 2008
Recently one of the Cashmere interns got the chance to take part in the Lil Wayne “Got Money” video…
Rap stars Lil Wayne, Mack Main, and T-Pain hit the streets of downtown LA shooting their video for “Got Money” on Lil Wayne’s new album The Carter III. Anxious faces, long stares, and wide eyes could be seen from cars and pedestrians passing. With the title like Got Money, it’s no surprise that Lil Wayne pulled out all stops, shooting at a bank near 5th and Main and shutting down streets for production.
Lil Wayne is a down to earth rapper…he took photos, mingled, and even let fans that were passing take part in being in his new video. I was present in various scenes in his video, which was AMAZING since it was my first video EVER! Slim, owner of Cash Money records was present on set making sure everything was up to par. Not to mention there were several friends of Lil Wayne who came and supported him just to name a few…Suge Knight, Mack 10, Nelly, Lil Mama, Ray-J, Teyanna from Sweet Sixteen, Akon’s brother; Boo, BirdMan, and Remy Ma.
And as a surprise to not only the cast, crew, and members of Cash Money records, BirdMan pulled out a gift like no other for Lil Wayne….it was a 2008 Phantom with a pretty BIG RED Bow on top of the hood. This was a big surprise to everyone especially Lil Wayne, he stated “whose car is this?” BirdMan threw the keys and said “it’s yours!” Lil Wayne jumped on top of the hood with excitement and awe!
All in all this was a great experience and I will never forget this moment ever in life!
Cashmere Crew hits up Nike Headquarters aka the Nike Campus and Reo’s Ribs
Thursday, June 19th, 2008
Cashmere spent the early part of the week in Portland, visiting the good folks over at Nike. It was inspiring to meet with a staff of forward thinking team players who strive for nothing less than excellence! Talk about motivating! The Nike Headquarters is like a huge school campus (but of course, much nicer!) with a lake, golf course, indoor pool, rock climbing section, soccer field, track, and much more! The campus is surely well equipped with these sports facilities to keep their employees fit and healthy.
All the buildings are named after famous a sportsman or woman who had made significant contributions in sports and Nike. There’s the John McEnroe Building, Michael Jordan Building, Tiger Woods Building, and the list goes on…
After some really great meetings we hit the Nike Employee Store. Nike employees and select guests get 50% plus off merchandise… NIKE NIRVANA!
Reo’s Ribs:
A trip to Oregon is not complete without visiting our Uncle Reo’s rib spot “Reo’s Ribs!” If you don’t know who Uncle Reo is, check him out in an episode of Snoop Dogg’s Fatherhood TV show here. This guy makes some really good Mississippi-style pork ribs and tender beef brisket! His BBQ is slathered in special sauce and cooked right outside the restaurant. In addition to our BBQ, we enjoyed eating cornbread, greens, mac ‘n cheese, beans and rice, sweet tea and sweet potato pie! Thanks to Uncle Reo and family for the hospitality and the good food!

The Running of the Bulls… Lamborghini Style
Now this commercial/viral clip definitely caught my attention…. Lamborghini, captivating, territory protector and long distance shortener. I need to get me one!
Westurn Union Music Video
Rik Cordero shot a Westurn Union music video for their self titled single on Monday, June 2nd in Woodland Hills. The group is comprised of three members; Damani, Soopafly, and Bad Lucc. They just released their “House Shoe Muzik Vol 1″ mixtape presented by DJ Crazy Toones, and their debut album is slated for a summer release in July. Guests in attendance at the video were Snoop Dogg, BJ The Chicago Kidd, Problem, Jay Rock, Holla, Squeaky Ru, Custom Made, Young Dre, L.E.R.S., and more.
Kelvin declares Viva La Vida
Coldplay’s new album “Viva La Vida,” releases June 17th and if the rest of it is as good as Viva La Vida, or Violet Hill it’s going to be incredible. Coldplay changes up their style and seems to tackle darker subject matter. The two singles seem to also have harder, more repetive beats than we’re used to hearing but I welcome the change. Delacroix’s painting for the album art is also super dope.
Yellow Rubicon… The Beefed Up Bumblebee
The other day Rona rolled up to the office in a bright yellow Jeep Rubicon, either shes planning on some serious LA 4 wheeling or she found the long lost cousin to the infamous Bumblebee.

Bon Appetit… Lobster anyone?
No matter how ridiculous an idea may be, as long as it’s thought through well enough it can turn out really amazing. Take for example Nike SB’s recent collaboration with Concepts, which could have been absolutely stupid, but in my opinion turned out amazing. What Concepts did was take the Dunk Low and Lobster-ize it, decking out the leather in shades of orange-y reds, putting a table cloth pattern inside the shoe, and even throwing some rubber bands on the toes! The shoes even come in a wooden box, much like a lobster trap, and come with a few t-shirts, some lobster crackers, and even an extra pair of butter yellow laces. I think they executed this entire set-up flawlessly, everything works together and the shoes look so rad! As far as I can tell they’re only available through the Concepts store in Cambridge, MA, so if you’re looking to snag a pair you might want to shoot them an email or give them a call, if they’re even in stock still.
Kate Goes Green…. with The Green Album
Appropriately timed, right on the heels of Al Green’s new release Lay It Down, comes The Green Album put together by Omer Saar of UniverSOUL Productions. Using acapellas from MF Doom, Biggie, Jay Z, and De La Soul among others, Omer mashes up some of hip-hop’s best with classic Al Green tracks.
Al Green mixed and mashed up with hip hop classics — doesn’t get much better… oh and did I mention the FREE Download.. click the album cover for more info!

Nike BE TRUE. Family Reunion party
“Park at 8000 Sunset, P3”
That was what we were told to do for the Nike BE TRUE. Family Reunion party. After arriving and checking in a little after 2 p.m. at a parking structure on 8000 Sunset Blvd., a bus shuttled us up into the Hollywood Hills. Once you stepped out of the bus, you were greeted by a giant gate and entered onto grounds of one of the most amazing views of Los Angeles. Cashmere family members Midi Mafia, Scoop Deville and Mibbs of Pacific Division were also there to join us in the festivities.
This was the place to be on a Sunday afternoon…They served some really good grub (burgers, hot dogs, tri-tip sandwiches, potato salad, coleslaw, etc.) and had a nice selection of beverages. Everything from brown-bagged Colt 45’s, to soda, water, Belvedere and some refreshing mojitos. With two full service bars and drink servers everywhere – no one was left thirsty. Also on the grounds were two giant inflatable slip –n- slides, a dunk tank (you could win free Nike dunks if you knocked the guy sitting there in), tetherball, and good music! First up on stage was “A Hip Hop Orchestra conducted by Double G.” This symphonic ensemble combined the rhythms of hip-hop with jazz and classical music. Our favorites were the West Coast classics from Dre, Snoop and Cube!
Next up were Chicago’s “The Cool Kids” who have been getting some buzz lately. Then “No Age.”
A big thanks to Lena B. of Nike for always looking out for the Cashmere familia!
The Cure Concert at the Shrine Auditorium
Thanks to Brian Gray (IGA) aka Killer B for the orchestra seat tickets, and VIP access passes to see The Cure up close and personal last night at the Shrine Auditorium. All we can say about this show is … Robert Smith rocks! This concert was awesome and they played every song we wanted to hear in this almost 3-hour show! We also got hooked up with the set list of the evening, which was kinda cool so there was no guessing in what they were going to play….
