Janelle Monae is a music goddess
Wednesday, August 20th, 2008
After performing one night, Big Boi from Outkast grabs her arm and says ” I want to work with you!” From then on, history has been in the making with Janelle Monae. She is one of the most brilliant artists of our time. Wearing high wasted black pants, white collard shirt, 50’s dress shoes, and her hair pulled back with a fro-ish pompadore in the front, rocks the stage last night at the Viper Room on Sunset performing songs from her Metropolis album. Janelle Monae gives it her all once she hits the stage. Her powerful vocals and great style is a new fresh face for music. There was not one moment during the show you were disappointed. For her encore, she came out and performed “Letting Go”. At the end, she crowed surfed and they were more than pleased to return her to the stage where she immediately started getting back into the music. She grabbed the mic stand, slammed it on the ground twice, and walked off stage leaving the crowd anticipating for the next time she will be back in town. If you haven’t checked her out, visit her at myspace.com/janellemonae.
A Legendary Rock The Bells
Monday, August 11th, 2008
Murs, De La Soul, Pharcyde, and A Tribe Called Quest all at the same concert? Of course you know the Cashmere Crew had to head out to the Glen Helen Pavilion in San Bernardino to check out the show. The day kicked off with some intense heat not only from the weather but also the performances. Murs repped L.A. to the fullest with his old to new set, preforming hits off of his upcoming albums that will hit stores Sept. 30, 2008… as a special treat to his fans Murs asked L.A.’s own DJ Quik to make a special appearance.
Rakim, De La Soul, Ghostface, Raekwon, and all members of The Pharcyde hit the stage as the day continued on. Mixing in the old with the new, the Black Eyed Peas hit the stage minus Fergie. As the night was coming to an end Nas enlightened his fans with his politically challenging lyrics and messages performing “Black President,” “One Mic,” “One Love” and “New York State Of Mind.” As promised Q-Tip, Phife Dawg, Jarobi and Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest closed out the night, leaving attendees with a memorable performance.
Check out some pictures and vids from the show:

Cashmere Agency Bridging the Gap Between East and West with Cashmere Asia
Friday, August 1st, 2008
For the past 5 years, The Cashmere Agency has been growing by leaps and bounds, in no small part to the support you have shown us throughout the years! We thank each and every one of you for the relationships, both working and other wise, that we have gained and we are very excited to share the news with you that The Cashmere Agency is expanding internationally with the opening of Cashmere Asia in Mumbai, India.
Our expansion is a true testament to our main goals of being able to connect youth and popular culture groups throughout the world, perhaps best personified by our first project of producing Snoop Dogg’s music video “Singh is Kinng” – the title track for the highly anticipated Bollywood movie of the same name which will merge one of the most recognized hip hop stars within an international pop culture phenomenon.
The project and our expansion has generated so much buzz and excitement, that we have gained the support and recognition of AdWeek, The New York Times and People Magazine. Check out their coverage of the Cashmere Asia expansion!

Keepin’ it Fresh on Friday
Friday, August 1st, 2008
So the Sneaker Pimps tour is in town tonight so what a better topic to discuss than kicks? We have a pretty diverse crew here in the office of Cashmere; some call them tennies, while others call them sneakers, then there are the ladies who rock the heels and keep it stylin’ 24/7.
T takes it back to the days of Avia…
Im in love with my Avia 880’s… a lot of people know Avia for their running or training shoes, but they definitely stand out in my eyes for making this shoe. I’m not typically the flashy type, but i love my metallic silver and red high tops!!
PhilGood is keepin it clean with the white on white Nike Air Force 1’s…..
I love these sneakers because they are the perfect size for my jeans to go over them. Not too small not too big, but it has that perfect thickness to it that make them stand out. They are super comfy too. I don’t think I can ever get tired of these sneakers.
The Saminator Loves Purple Pigeons…
I love my nike sb purple pigeons because they are just so smooth looking and can go with almost anything. I love wearing all sorts of shoes, but my nike sb’s are my favorite pair of kicks to throw on anyday.
K8 trades in the tennies for the heels…
90% of the time, you can find me in some teneshoes (hi-tops preferably) – but when I switch it up with some heels, Irregular Choice has some of the most innovative styles and are comfortable too! These “Spangle Foot” sandals are one of my fav designs- and allow me to work some GOLD into the outfit
K C and the comic book kicks…
Kelvin would totally rock these geeky kicks….Outstanding street wear brand adidas Originals is proud to announce a unique tri-collaboration project for the fall/winter season 2008. It will launch two sneakers to coincide with the global release of the Hellboy II ‘The Golden Army’ movie in August 2008. The collaboration brings together adidas Originals, Universal Studios & Guillermo Del Toro, the film’s director, and Dark Horse Comics & Mike Mignola, the original comic book artist of Hellboy. Together, this tri-project has produced two outstanding sneakers: the Forum Mid-Golden Army and the Stan Mid-Hellboy.

Miss Brittany with the Freakum Heels…
Okay, these shoes are from Victoria Beckham’s blog…they’re so cute…Versace…too bad! Lol…but they’re pretty amazing, they would look good in green or purple too! Wow…maybe it comes in it too who knows???
The Resident Chronisseur and the pixaelated leaf design…
I like these Vans the most, because they have my favorite pixel leaf design on them. They are comfortable slip on shoes, and can work well with anything. However, Vans had to discontinue the production and sale of these shoes due to complaints from soccer moms.
Misty Rocks the Heels that have their own Swagger…
Aldo heels – Light Yellow Atlantic City…European styled shoe with an elf-like toe, strong high heel with a fierce personality.
The color screams “I want it!” No the color makes that guy or gal say “I want it!” The shoe demands attention with its swagger and tenacity for attitude. It has various dimensions and can be worn several ways. Whichever way you choose to wear it, you will be the chosen one and are deemed to leave a presence everywhere you go. I am the chosen one, that chose that heel. Now watch me walk away Lol.
