Career Day For Cashmere
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009
Last Wednesday, Cashmere team members, Misty and Isiaiah were given the opportunity to speak at “career day” at 99th Street Elementary School in Los Angeles. Both were able to speak with students ranging from the first grade to the fifth grade; most of whom were interested in Cashmere’s clientele, working relationships with clients and marketing/graphic design strategies. It was a great opportunity for Cashmere to get involved with the community and will be looking forward to future opportunities like this.

Hulu x iPhone
Monday, April 20th, 2009

Hulu is coming to an iPhone near you! That’s right…Hulu is finally breaking into the app world! It will be launching soon (within a few months) and is “badass” — as excellent as Hulu’s website. Video will work over both Wi-Fi and 3G. Although the app might take up too much bandwith, Hulu believes this will help increase sales of the iPhone, iPod Touch and AT&T services.

Ashton Kutcher beats CNN in Twitter Race
Friday, April 17th, 2009

After a grueling, intense, neck to neck battle against CNN to see who can reach one million followers first, Ashton Kutcher climbs out of the wreckage and ruin victorious, but humble. This officially lands him a spot in history as the first person ever to reach one million followers on Twitter. The battle raged until around 2:13am with only a half hour lead over CNN. Kutcher will donate $100,000 to the Malaria No More fund in order to provide around 10,000 mosquito bed nets for charity. CNN has promised to make a donation as well.
In the wake of this momentous victory, Ashton Kutcher graciously provides his two cents on the event: “…it’s not about me, it’s not about anything, any accolade I’m trying to achieve. It’s really about us and, uh, it’s about a statement that one man can have a voice that’s as loud as an entire media company. And you can have that voice as well. And we can all have that voice together. And, and, and we can change media forever. That’s just the start. I dunno, um, maybe that was a little too preachy?” No Ashton, that was perfect.

YouTube x Universal Music Group
Friday, April 10th, 2009

Youtube.come and Universal Music Group, the world’s largest record label are joining forces!
The two announced a licensing and advertising-revenue-sharing agreement today that covers the use of UMG music on YouTube around the world, as well as a joint venture to create a new video site, Vevo (site to be launched later this year).
The new service changes the old model under which YouTube paid the labels a fraction of a penny when a song was played, either as an official video or a soundtrack for a user-generated video. The economics of the new deal are based on sharing ad revenue.
