Never Forget…Always Remember

On this day – eight years ago, we would like to remember those who died in the terrorist attacks of 9/11 that killed 2,752 people.  Our hearts go out to the friends and family of all who died.  Today at the Pentagon, President Obama spoke to those who lost loved ones on September 11th, 2001, “Eight Septembers have come and gone,” Obama said. “Nearly 3,000 days have passed, almost one for each one who has been taken from us.  We recall the beauty and meaning of their lives,” he said. “No passage of time, no dark skies can dull the meaning of that moment.  Let us renew our resolve against those who perpetrated this violent act,” Obama said.

September is already here! And it’s full of so many great things besides the autumn season and the “No White” rule after Labor Day.

There is MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL LAUGHS with Michael Strahan!

“BROTHERS stars Michael Strahan and Daryl “Chill” Mitchell. FOX’s “Brothers” is about a former NFL hot shot who learns that even though you can always go home again, the trip back might be tougher than you think. Mike Trainor seemingly has it all—he’s a good-looking, wealthy and recently retired NFL player living the high-life in New York City—but he’s about to get sidelined. When Mike gets a phone call from his Mom ordering him home to Houston, he quickly realizes the more his life has changed, the more his family has stayed the same on FOX’s “Brothers.”

Here at Cashmere, we all love and appreciate the talented Michael Jordan.  To some of us, he was more than just a basketball player.  He was a legend and someone who we all wanted to be when we grew up!  For being considered one of the best athlete’s in sports history, as children we knew those were some HUGE shoes to fill!  Thus, most of us were are an avid shoe collector of his sneakers, which undoubtedly presents the opportunity to be a step closer to “being like Mike,” (or at least we like to think so).

So, you can only imagine how excited we were to see Nike’s new online venture for him.  In commemoration of MJ’s induction to the Hall of Fame, Nike has created a 3-D, pop-up animation which takes you on a journey from year to year – showcasing each style of Jordan sneakers.  In addition, the pop-up book gives you a look at the new 25th Anniversary (all white) Collection set to drop sometime next year.  Here are some of the photos from the animation, but make sure you go to the site (HERE) to see the full project!!

The Future’s Car in the present!

How dope is this?!? The designers at BMW have just released pictures from their new EfficientDynamics concept car, which will be unveiled late this month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s a hybrid-engined car that has 2+2 seating, polycarbonate windows and gull-wing doors. The anticipated top speed is 250 km/h (155 mph) and can reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds (So yes, it still drives like a BMW!) This is one concept car we hope to see actually hit the public pavement!!
