Hands-On 3rd: Learn How to Be Crafty
February 5th, 2010
Have you always wanted to learn how to make that knit scarf your grandma gave you for Christmas last year? Or create and design a necklace that actually fits your style and budget but not sure where to acquire such skills? Are college classes too expensive right now to help discover your creativity?
Look no further! Located in the mid-city area of Los Angeles, Hands-On 3rd (http://www.handson3rd.com) offers various classes/workshops to help you in your craft needs and desires. Their workshops are open to the public with affordable prices that range from $49 – $220 depending on the amount of recommended sessions. Learn how to personalize your garments or accessories with their Needle Felting class or how to design on tiles with their Mosaic Basics course. Does your ripped up jeans or torn shirt need patching and you don’t want to throw it away? Hands-On 3rd offers a “Mend It” course where you are allowed to bring in your garments to learn basic techniques of clothing repair. They have a variety of courses you can choose from that includes sewing, knitting, jewelry, robots, millinery, crochet or pattern making.
While it seems a bit expensive, shelling out $49 for only two hours of class, it will benefit you in the long run. You won’t have to pay another person to help patch your jeans or buy a pair of earrings you could have made yourself!
