Affordable Meals in LA Brought to you by BlackboardEats.com!

Friday, May 28th, 2010

You can thank us later.  BlackboardEats.com is a fabulous Web site that Cashmere holds near and dear to because we love food!

The Web site is a legit and most importantly, awesome, site that partners with delicious restaurants around Los Angeles to give their subscribers coupon codes in a newsletter they distribute randomly into your inbox.  Offers varies and can include as much as 30% off lunch/dinner codes to your favorite restaurant –Mo-Chica, Jar, Mozza 2 Go, Harolds & Belles– free appetizer per table, free bottle of wine, and lots more!

Of course, they do have limitations; where some restaurants allow parties of up to four people, free appetizers require each person to order an entrée, etc.  The best deals are the 30% off meals.

Currently, they are serving only the Los Angeles and New York area.  Hopefully they expand and begin partnering with restaurants in San Francisco, Chicago, Philadelphia, Miami and other must-dine cities.

What are you waiting for?  Hurry up and sign up here!!!

Cashmere says Good-Bye to Lost

Monday, May 24th, 2010

Last night millions bid a bittersweet farewell to Lost, as the cult-like drama concluded its iconic television run. Many, including two of Cashmere’s own diehard ‘Losties’ (I’m sure everyone guessed Anthony, but whodathunk Rona?) watched as Jack, Sawyer, Kate, Sayid, Ben, Hurley, and Locke, graced our television screens for the final time.

A day later, the internet and blogosphere is still abuzz trying to decipher every minute mystery that the creative team of Damon Lindelof & Carlton Cuse crafted over the past six years. While the faithful Lost audience could not get answers to every question that emerged throughout the show’s storied run, longtime Lost fans were treated to an endearing, happy ending (of sorts) for the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815.

In case you missed it, the series finale of Lost will repeat this Saturday, May 29th at 8pm on ABC. And check out the lost themed videos below: three alternate endings to the series finale and Jimmy Kimmel’s tribute to the show for his “This Week in Unnecessary Censorship” bit. And for the few that might have ‘lost’ count, College Humor compiled a comprehensive list of all the Lost unanswered questions into one video.

Cashmere Wishes YouTube A Happy Birthday!!!

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Today marks the 5th anniversary for YouTube.  Five years ago, they gave the public an alternative way of expressing themselves through the internet by allowing users to upload their very own, self-produced videos – allowing for the most creative, unique and original content to exist on the internet.  Fast forward five years, a plethora of regular Joe Schmoes have exploded into internet stardom; many becoming lucky to have garnered public interest beyond the web browsers and into broadcast television, radio and all other media outlets.

If it wasn’t for YouTube, would we have been able to witness Michael Jackson’s amazing Thriller choreographed dance performed by Filipino inmates?  Or be able to hear the heart-melting, Mario Kart Love Song that had all the women clutching themselves with hope that there are still good men left out there? Or how about that super rare video clip of Michael Jackson, Prince, and the Godfather of Soul, James Brown in their only appearance on stage together.

YouTube, you’ve shown us the world by allowing us to share our own stories and visions with others.  Cashmere appreciates you, values you, and wishes you many mores of success to come!

To join YouTube in celebrating this momentous day, please visit: YouTube.com/FiveYear. And check out some of Cashmere’s favorite YouTube videos below.

Marques Houston’s new single “Pullin On Her Hair” featuring Rick Ross premiered today on MySpace Music, and this track goes hard. The Mattress Music album, set to drop July 27th, is an installment that the artist coins as “baby making music.”

Marques sat down with SingersRoom.com to explain his inspiration for the track:

“She loves it when I’m pulling on her hair. It speaks for itself,” he says. “When you’re making love and you’re pulling on that hair, she loves it. A man being aggressive is what a woman wants in the bedroom and most of the women that I have dated, like aggression and passion.”
