Cashmere Experiences Mr. Pizza

Tuesday, November 29th, 2011

The Cashmere team (Alice, Alison, Annie, Anthony, Brandon, Grace, James, Jasmin, Kelly, and Ryan) had a Monday night outing to say “see you later” to our beloved Theresa and experienced Mr. Pizza for the first time. The food was amazing, as some of their unique pizzas have sweet potatoes baked into the pizza crust. We ordered eight pizzas, two pitchers of Blue Moon, and received ‘service’, which meant two plates of free appetizers.

We will miss you Theresa.

Being too cool is something that the Chicago Kid, King Louie, doesn’t need a degree to be able give you a tutorial in. It’s probably 20 degrees right now! His new release “Too Cool” also features 2Chainz & Red Cafe. Download the remix here!

@Iamimanomari just dropped “Energy” for free download. If you haven’t checked out his work already, Iman’s worked with big names on the West such as, Kendrick, Overdoz, and Terrace Martin. Beats are largely Iman and THC.  Get the free download here!

A Day At The LA Auto Show

Wednesday, November 23rd, 2011

Yesterday, members of the Cashmere and Stampede crew headed to the Convention Center in Downtown LA for the annual LA Auto Show.  A mix of brand new concepts and current models sprawled across the convention floor, showcasing each brand in their own unique way.  Digital cameras, smartphones, and iPad’s were in abundance to capture photos of the new, re-invented, and re-designed cars, trucks, and everything in between.  The show was definitely highlighted by the focus on eco-friendly hybrids and electric vehicles.  Here is a photo journey of our favorite brands, models, and concepts.

#NewMusicTuesday: Kendrick Lamar feat. Busta Rhymes – Rigamortus(Remix)

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011

One of the newest Cash Money representatives, Busta Rhymes, has added his two cents to “Rigamortus”, originated by one of the industry’s newest and most talked about artists in hip-hop, Kendrick Lamar.

What does that mean? Well, you’re gonna have to do a lot of pausing and rewinding to digest the incredible delivery of these two. It’s interesting to see that Busta still has the ability to keep up with the new school and Kendrick fits in so well with such a seasoned vet. Make sure you hit up Willie B and thank him for the awesome production.

Cashmere #WeekendRecap

Monday, November 21st, 2011

“This Sunday ‘The Hundreds’ took me on a 24 hour trip to San Fransisco to do the visuals for the Hundreds x Diamond Supply Co. Party”

Whoopi – @whoopthis

“Thanksgiving started nearly a week early with a trip to Xzibit’s home on Sunday.  Since he will be on tour in Australia over the Holiday, he got his thanks on a tad early.  Here’s my first plate.  Trust that a couple more followed. (Notice no meat!)

Ryan – @fordryan

“Over the weekend I was fortunate enough to be on set of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s new movie “Gangster Squad”. Filming took place at MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. The movie is based in the 1950′s (as you can see by the pictures) and is about LAPD’s fight against the East Coast mob. It is set to be released in the Fall of 2012 so make sure to keep an eye out for that.”

Tim – @itistimbo

“So without giving away all the details and/or giving you the longest weekend recap ever I’ll put it to you like this:

So starting on Thursday I went to see the private soft open of the new IM King flagship store in Santa Ana, drinks, food, artists and of course fashion.  Now from Friday to Sunday it was all a big blur that took me all over the city.  In that blur I ended up seeing, meeting, hanging out with and/or collaborating with Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Hit-Boy, Mega (of Black Scale), Chase N. Cashe, Krondon, Chace Infinite, JBC, Crooks & Castles, A$AP Rocky, Nipsey Hussle, Dom Kennedy, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, a model (Kimmy Kamish) with hundreds of boxes of dope tennis shoes and more; at places like the Music Box, the Black Scale Los Angeles Store, MyStudio, a soundstage and a private dinner location.  Here are some photos that you can use to attempt to put this blurry puzzle together for now (until I start to release more details).”
Brandon – @Eazee

“This weekend I went to a korean bar called Dweet Gol Mok (AKA DGM) with my friends, #teamgiggity (all riggghhht).”

Will the protect IP act break the internet?

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives are meeting today about two bills that have strong corporate support, and could possibly kill the freedoms that we all enjoy daily.   The PROTECT IP ACT in the Senate and STOP ONLINE PIRACY ACT in the House could effectively block most of the main sites we visit daily, including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Vimeo.  This bill will give the government the power to block or censor any website with just one bad link, including the removal of ad revenue, search traffic, and the website all together.  There are many major corporations in the entertainment industry who are pushing hard for this bill to pass, in hopes of limiting the amount of online piracy and preserving the U.S. Copyright system.  Companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter, and AOL have all sent letters to Congress in hopes of opposing these acts.

As supporters of all of these sites and how we express ourselves as a people through social media, this is something that could threaten our way of life.  It could threaten our ability to share stories, connect with friends and family, and gather as a collective people for a specific cause.  Should we just sit back and let our freedoms be impacted by the government?  How can we trust them with the power to greatly affect one of the largest industries in America?  As a people, it is our job to act, and this will only go as far as we let it.

A Story of One Year at Cashmere

Wednesday, November 16th, 2011

Today is my one year mark at Cashmere Agency and I wanted to share a couple stories!

The night before I started, I got into a car accident and I was so out of it my first day.  Everything was fine until I found out that we were taking our holiday picture on the roof and I was so sore trying to get to the roof.  It didn’t help that I usually look awkward on camera.

One of my favorite memories is the “pause pause pizza fridays” that the Vis Pro department had. We had a chart of who said the most inappropriate things, usually unknowingly, and whoever had the most at the end of the week had to buy pizza from across the street. Colin won/lost most of the time.  The day we moved to the new building is definitely a day I will never forget. I am really grateful that I got to see how the company was and what it has become now.  It has grown so much in the one year I have been here, and I know that it will grow so much more.  I just want to thank everybody for making work so fun. Sometimes I think I have more fun here than when I leave the office (that’s not a comment on how sad my life is; it is a comment on how great it is in the office :/).

<3 <3 <3  I hope I write a blog entry like this next year.
