Style Network’s 2nd Annual “Give & Get Fete” Fundraiser Benefiting Dress for Success

Tuesday, August 17th, 2010

Last night, Style Network held their 2nd Annual “Give & Get Fete” fundraiser benefiting Dress for Success at  the Soho House in West Hollywood. Cashmere Agency was there to support the good cause and was wowed by the experience. Garcelle Beauvais was the beautiful host for this year’s festivities. The fundraiser was a huge success with a fantastic evening filled with celebrities including Elise Neal, Ali Fedotowsky, Audrina Patridge; complimentary spa treatments, gifting suites, a silent auction, and more.  Not to mention the bottomless supply of red and white wine along with delicious sweets for guests.  If anyone knows how to properly pamper the ladies, Style Network and their staff are the experts!

All of the funds earned through ticket sales and the silent auction will go directly to Dress for Success.  The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive not only in work, but in life. We thank Style Network for the generous invite and  congratulate  them on the success of the charitable event.

Cashmere Fashion: Photo Shopping Gone Too Far?

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

Ann Taylor has successfully turned itself from a staid, homely brand into a covetable one, even garnering comparisons from the New York Times to Dior and Balenciaga. But it’s not all good with the brand’s online store, where online women’s publication, Jezebel, noticed that models appear to have been ridiculously photo shopped.

For example, in the photo below (on the left) from the Ann Taylor online store, the model has hips remarkably smaller than her shoulder span. Also in the below photo (on the right), Ann Taylor helps the model stave off muffin top by digitally sanding down her hips and thighs to avoid fabric folds, which most agree are realistic and hardly unsightly. Also, amazing how smooth the silk shirt in the photo on the right is as its tucked into the model’s slacks, eliminating bunching and rippling.

So it would appear that Ann Taylor is a store with near impossibly smooth clothes and skinny models or they have a little retouching scandal on their hands.  Ultimately, its up to their customers to decide how they feel about this photo shop situation with Ann Taylor’s online store.

Cashmere Kicks: Clerks the Shoes!

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

In what was sure to be the highlight (for some) of Comic-Con 2010, Etnies announced that they teamed up with writer/director Kevin Smith to release a collaboration project inspired by the 1994 cult classic film Clerks.

Smith debuted the shoes over the weekend during the four-day convention at a happy hour event thrown at San Diego’s  Sé Hotel. 300 fans were on hand  for the announcement and treated to free beer and some Etnies apparel and shoes courtesy of Smith and the sneaker company.

The shoes, based off of Etnies Jameson 2 line, features the “Clerks” logo on the side heel panel of each shoe and matching Etnies logo on the tongue.  What really makes these shoes a “must-own” for Clerks fans, is black and white still shot of two of Smith’s most iconic characters, Jay & Silent Bob in front of the famous Quick Stop on the left and right footbeds of the shoes.
