Instructables Restaurant Digesting The Web

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Meeting up at a restaurant for a business meeting, or celebrate with friends just got savvier. Instructablesrestaurant.com is the first open source restaurant in the world that combines free culture with food concepts.

Everything in the restaurant is created from Instructables, a web-based documentation platform where other online users share their knowledge with the community. In the Instructables Restaurant, the person dining in leaves knowing how to make the food they just ate, as well as how to create furniture, and the restaurant in a whole.

Anyone can open an Instructables Restaurant, but you have to be creative and willing to use your network. To get started, you can organize a dinner party and invite at least 15 people to try out the food. Create a great ambiance by selecting a unique graphic design, and a menu that piques the interest of your guests. After that, you’re in business.

The first Instructables Restaurant kicked off last December at the historic Theatrum Anatomicum of the Wagg in Amsterdam on the 15th anniversary of Wagg Society. For more information, visit Instructablesrestaurant.com for tips on how you can open up your own Instructables Restaurant.
