Keepin’ it Fresh on Friday
Friday, August 1st, 2008
So the Sneaker Pimps tour is in town tonight so what a better topic to discuss than kicks? We have a pretty diverse crew here in the office of Cashmere; some call them tennies, while others call them sneakers, then there are the ladies who rock the heels and keep it stylin’ 24/7.
T takes it back to the days of Avia…
Im in love with my Avia 880′s… a lot of people know Avia for their running or training shoes, but they definitely stand out in my eyes for making this shoe. I’m not typically the flashy type, but i love my metallic silver and red high tops!!
PhilGood is keepin it clean with the white on white Nike Air Force 1′s…..
I love these sneakers because they are the perfect size for my jeans to go over them. Not too small not too big, but it has that perfect thickness to it that make them stand out. They are super comfy too. I don’t think I can ever get tired of these sneakers.
The Saminator Loves Purple Pigeons…
I love my nike sb purple pigeons because they are just so smooth looking and can go with almost anything. I love wearing all sorts of shoes, but my nike sb’s are my favorite pair of kicks to throw on anyday.
K8 trades in the tennies for the heels…
90% of the time, you can find me in some teneshoes (hi-tops preferably) – but when I switch it up with some heels, Irregular Choice has some of the most innovative styles and are comfortable too! These “Spangle Foot” sandals are one of my fav designs- and allow me to work some GOLD into the outfit
K C and the comic book kicks…
Kelvin would totally rock these geeky kicks….Outstanding street wear brand adidas Originals is proud to announce a unique tri-collaboration project for the fall/winter season 2008. It will launch two sneakers to coincide with the global release of the Hellboy II ‘The Golden Army’ movie in August 2008. The collaboration brings together adidas Originals, Universal Studios & Guillermo Del Toro, the film’s director, and Dark Horse Comics & Mike Mignola, the original comic book artist of Hellboy. Together, this tri-project has produced two outstanding sneakers: the Forum Mid-Golden Army and the Stan Mid-Hellboy.

Miss Brittany with the Freakum Heels…
Okay, these shoes are from Victoria Beckham’s blog…they’re so cute…Versace…too bad! Lol…but they’re pretty amazing, they would look good in green or purple too! Wow…maybe it comes in it too who knows???
The Resident Chronisseur and the pixaelated leaf design…
I like these Vans the most, because they have my favorite pixel leaf design on them. They are comfortable slip on shoes, and can work well with anything. However, Vans had to discontinue the production and sale of these shoes due to complaints from soccer moms.
Misty Rocks the Heels that have their own Swagger…
Aldo heels – Light Yellow Atlantic City…European styled shoe with an elf-like toe, strong high heel with a fierce personality.
The color screams “I want it!” No the color makes that guy or gal say “I want it!” The shoe demands attention with its swagger and tenacity for attitude. It has various dimensions and can be worn several ways. Whichever way you choose to wear it, you will be the chosen one and are deemed to leave a presence everywhere you go. I am the chosen one, that chose that heel. Now watch me walk away Lol.

The Running of the Bulls… Lamborghini Style
Now this commercial/viral clip definitely caught my attention…. Lamborghini, captivating, territory protector and long distance shortener. I need to get me one!
Westurn Union Music Video
Rik Cordero shot a Westurn Union music video for their self titled single on Monday, June 2nd in Woodland Hills. The group is comprised of three members; Damani, Soopafly, and Bad Lucc. They just released their “House Shoe Muzik Vol 1″ mixtape presented by DJ Crazy Toones, and their debut album is slated for a summer release in July. Guests in attendance at the video were Snoop Dogg, BJ The Chicago Kidd, Problem, Jay Rock, Holla, Squeaky Ru, Custom Made, Young Dre, L.E.R.S., and more.
Kelvin declares Viva La Vida
Coldplay’s new album “Viva La Vida,” releases June 17th and if the rest of it is as good as Viva La Vida, or Violet Hill it’s going to be incredible. Coldplay changes up their style and seems to tackle darker subject matter. The two singles seem to also have harder, more repetive beats than we’re used to hearing but I welcome the change. Delacroix’s painting for the album art is also super dope.
Yellow Rubicon… The Beefed Up Bumblebee
The other day Rona rolled up to the office in a bright yellow Jeep Rubicon, either shes planning on some serious LA 4 wheeling or she found the long lost cousin to the infamous Bumblebee.
Brittany For Obama..
This week, the Presidential primary elections ended and Obama secured the winning ticket! YAY Obama O8!! Read the story for more info or watch the vid…Obama Wins Nomination
Bon Appetit… Lobster anyone?
No matter how ridiculous an idea may be, as long as it’s thought through well enough it can turn out really amazing. Take for example Nike SB’s recent collaboration with Concepts, which could have been absolutely stupid, but in my opinion turned out amazing. What Concepts did was take the Dunk Low and Lobster-ize it, decking out the leather in shades of orange-y reds, putting a table cloth pattern inside the shoe, and even throwing some rubber bands on the toes! The shoes even come in a wooden box, much like a lobster trap, and come with a few t-shirts, some lobster crackers, and even an extra pair of butter yellow laces. I think they executed this entire set-up flawlessly, everything works together and the shoes look so rad! As far as I can tell they’re only available through the Concepts store in Cambridge, MA, so if you’re looking to snag a pair you might want to shoot them an email or give them a call, if they’re even in stock still.
Kate Goes Green…. with The Green Album
Appropriately timed, right on the heels of Al Green‘s new release Lay It Down, comes The Green Album put together by Omer Saar of UniverSOUL Productions. Using acapellas from MF Doom, Biggie, Jay Z, and De La Soul among others, Omer mashes up some of hip-hop’s best with classic Al Green tracks.
Al Green mixed and mashed up with hip hop classics — doesn’t get much better… oh and did I mention the FREE Download.. click the album cover for more info!

Kate’s Bento Box Love
Kate is jealous of japanese children. Not only because each and every one is cute enough to kidnap — but also because their mothers have developed this newfangled art called “bento boxes” which is the equivalent of an American kid’s boring old PBJ and 2 oreos.
Check out this site to see what the cool kids find in their lunch boxes these days. A sushi-bear?? Seriously??!
Top FroYo Picks from Rona, Cashmere Agency’s Dessert Aficionado
Ce Fiore
My favorite combo from here is acai berry and green tea, with mochi, fruity pebbles and kiwi toppings. The consistency is a lot smoother and creamier than other froyo spots in the neighborhood. If you want more of an icier consistency, then head over to Pinkberry or Cantaloop. CeFiore also serves tea and recently added crepes and waffles to their menu, all of which look really good. There is a CeFiore within walking distance from where I live , very convenient!
Tutto Tutti
This place just opened up not too long ago, right next to California Chicken Café on Melrose and Mansfield. They have some really unique flavors, the one I really like is the Double Wonder flavor (made with sea salt and caramel – I know it sounds a little weird, but believe me this is good!) topped with their fresh berry puree sauce and candied walnuts!
The decor is a cute combo of green and brown, you also get free WiFi and I love that they also serve organic coffee here…they open at 7 a.m.! Only downside is the limited parking. The people that work here and the owners are really nice and always so friendly!
Yogurt World (if you are ever in San Diego, you’ve got to try this spot out!)
One thing I like about this spot is that they have almost over 10 flavors to choose from at a time and a big variety of toppings. It’s basically a self-serve frozen yogurt bar, similar to Menchi in Studio City. Yogurt World seems to have more toppings to choose from than Menchi, and it seems like the topping area is always a little more organized and less messy than you would find at other self serve froyo spots. My usual at this spot: original flavor with coconut, mochi, strawberries and blueberries on top! Yummy!
Are your fish envious of your hamster’s Habitrail?

in style with a Labyrinth Aquarium, which features multiple connected tanks
for your fish to explore. The aquariums come with all of the filters,
lights, pumps and cleaning equipment you need, all hidden away in the

The Labyrinth Aquarium comes in a few models and colors and is available at

Kelvin’s answer to style and saftey in da hood.
If you can afford the $600 price tag this hoodie will not only keep the cold
away but also 9mm rounds. However the hoodie only protects the body, not
the head. So don’t get shot in the head.
The Walking Bike…
Do I have to say anything about this?!? This is probably the craziest thing I have seen all year… the tight thing about it are the shoes. You have Converse, Nike and Y-3. Only a straight pimp could ride this around town, this is the only reason why I cant get this insanely dope bike!!!!
