Music, Snoop Dogg, Video#THROWBACKTHURSDAY: DRAKE f/ TREY SONGZ – REPLACEMENT GIRL [MUSIC VIDEO]
Thursday, January 26th, 2012
It’s interesting yet remarkable how hip-hop superstar Drake pretty much dominated the internet on his rise to fame and still does now. Whether it’s a beef with Common, supposed romances with pop-stars (like Rihanna), or even spooofs by comedians and YouTube stars it seems everyone knows exactly who Drake is and every type of video he’s ever made. With that said we decided to post Drake’s first music video that many had never seen and when it dropped no one had any idea who Drake was. How things have changed in a short time. This video was a single from his second mixtape Comeback Season.

IS SWIZZ BEATZ HEADED TO JAIL? FEDS SHUTDOWN HIS MEGAUPLOAD COMPANY
Thursday, January 19th, 2012

After the internet came together to fight SOPA & PIPA interestingly enough the Federal prosecutors have shut down Megaupload. Megaupload is one of the largest file-sharing sites in the world. The founder and other employees have been charged with piracy. Oddly enough it’s CEO Swizz Beatz was in the middle of a copyright infringement case w/ notables such as Kanye West, Diddy, Chris Brown, Will.I.AM and more. These artists came out in support of Megaupload in 2011 with a song. It’s interesting to see that someone who works within the music industry is a CEO of a service that the music industry alleges takes money out of their pockets. Will Swizz see “fed time”? For more details on this story check out Complex.

KANYE WEST x DONDA: A Twitter rant
Thursday, January 5th, 2012

Kanye West took to Twitter last night out of nowhere on a rant about changing the world. In his rant he talked about changing the education systems and curriculum. He then called for people to help him make changes and share ideas to achieve such goals. From there everyone was introduced to DONDA as he gave out an email for people to reach out to him. From there Twitter went into a frenzy, fans and media outlets began retweeting his tweets and DONDA became a trending topic. Every media outlet has seemed to report on it and if you Google search Kanye West you will see various links to articles on the rant. Some have called his rant a good publicity stunt for his new venture, others have said it’s inspiring to see an artist of his stature talk about these issues. What are your thoughts?
