#ThrowbackThursday [5.10.2012]

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

With the Floyd Mayweather fight taking place last weekend, there was plenty of talk about the “Money Team,” including their newest member Justin Bieber. Soon after, pictures surfaced of Floyd with Justin, Lil Wayne and long-time friend, 50 Cent. Many jokingly called them the “New Money Team.”

Conversations about this around the office led to discussions about 50 Cent’s reintroduction to the music game, via Eminem, in 2003 and how he had the least radio-friendly song (Wanksta) in rotation on pretty much every radio station in the U.S. Also back in 2003, Lil Wayne was slowly becoming the superstar artist he is now. August Alsina Premiere’s Music Video for “I’m Gone” featuring Trae The Truth & 2win

Wednesday, May 9th, 2012

Today, R&B newcomer August Alsina dropped a brand new music video for his original song “I’m Gone” featuring Trae The Truth & 2win.

Making his debut this year, the 19-year-old from New Orleans may seem like just another male R&B act at first glance, until you hear his songs and lyrics. His amazing vocal style has the smoothness of true R&B but tells the stories of hardship, drugs and street life that you would expect from a rapper. Backed by R&B star Lloyd’s management, August Alsina has been making noise online through his R&B covers of hit rap songs from artists, such as Waka Flocka, Lil Wayne, Drake and more.
