The 8 Best Movie Marketing Campaigns of 2018 (So Far)

By Cashmere Agency Film & TV, Our Work

Adweek recently released its list of the 8 best movie marketing campaigns of the year through July. Black Panther shattered records and expectations, A Wrinkle In Time broke down barriers, Mission: Impossible Fallout extended the franchises streak to 22 years, and Sorry To Bother You is still blowing minds. 2018 has been a whirlwind of emotions and box office success, even with overall theater ticket sales trending downward.

Campaigns were judged based on the way they utilized soundtracks and the way they positioned the actual talent over the studio, to the way they used technology in their rollouts. Sorry To Bother You was also recognized for their ability to release trailers that gave no details into the characters or plot yet still managed to sell a, “surrealist fantasy that somehow also seemed more grounded than any other 10 movies combined.”
